Local patrol leader Lun Junwen is devoted to his mother Lun Bashen. They run a candle shop together. Junwen's close friends include Niu Bainan and his uncle Yu Luming. Still unmarried, Junwen pursues his fellow townsman Jiang Lihua, who returns to find her missing brother and sister-in-law, unaware that Junwen is involved in their disappearance.
